About the event
Join Ayeda, one of the few authorized female Sufi teachers in the world today.
Take a journey through dance, with dance, in dance as we familiarize ourselves with the dance of the dervish. This workshop is designed to lead us through teachings, meditations and movements that culminate in the whirling of the mystical dervish.
We will learn to see dance as a devotional art form, a mystical philosophy and, most important, as a way of healing and cleansing our higher selves.
Based on the life and poetry of Rumi, this workshop will teach us how to come into harmony with ourselves as well as the universe through the counter-clockwise movements of the dervish.
Please come with an open heart, a willingness to move and a pair of cotton socks!
