About the event

Give it space and let it breathe.

Grief comes in many forms: loosing a loved one, loosing a job, ending a relationship, loosing a version of yourself, and loosing a pet are only a few. It’s an emotional rollercoaster that runs on its own agenda, and it can make you feel alone; but it’s the one thing we all have in common. The first step is giving yourself the space to set your grief down and let it breathe. I invite you to join me as we hold a safe space for grief in this workshop.

I’ll guide you through breath-work and techniques you can use to help release grief stored in the body. From there, we will embark on a meditation that will guide you into a written release of your grief and ignite hope for the future. You’ll then have the opportunity to create an honorary piece in which you can take home as a comforting gift. We will then end with a slow yoga flow That will focus on specific poses that are meant to release grief stored in the body. Variations for each pose will be given, even if it’s your first time trying yoga; it’s for everybody and everyBODY. As always, you are more than welcome to lay in a comfortable position during the yoga flow as well. This is your practice, so please honour it as you’d like.

Meet your facilitator

Lisa Pizzimenti 

Certified Yoga Instructor 

Lisa is a free-spirited yoga instructor who has a passion for wellness and healing, and truly believes that everyone has the right to be their true, authentic selves. She has her 200 hr Yoga Teacher Certification, and is currently working on her Meditation teacher training, as well as a Yoga for Grief course. Lisa is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their wellness and healing goals through the practice of yoga and wellness techniques. She is passionate about guiding individuals through practices such as breath-work, meditation, yoga (for all levels), reflective writing, and creative activities; in a variety of settings. As an elementary school teacher with over 10 years of experience, Lisa has coached several sports teams, led clubs for empowering young females, and has experience with a variety of social realities affecting both students and families. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys volunteering at local yoga centers, spending time with loved ones, and thoroughly enjoys creating themed workshops. Lisa is committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and empowered, by meeting you where you’re at on your healing and wellness journey.
